Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what proportion of carers received paid support from local authorities in each year between 2010 and 2020.

The mechanism used to collect this data has been in place since 2014/15. Prior to 2014/15, adult social care activity levels were reported through another mechanism and these datasets are not comparable.

The following table shows the proportion of carers supported or assessed in receipt of paid local authority support in each year from 2014/15 to 2020/21.
