Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how much and what proportion of the NHS budget is projected to be spent on General Practice in 2018-19; and how much and what proportion of the NHS budget was spent on general practice in each year since 2009-10.

The proportion of National Health Service funding spent on general practice in each year between 2010/11 and 2016/17, together with NHS England’s projected spend for 2017/18 and 2018/19 is presented in the table below. No comparable data on NHS front-line spend were available for 2009/10.

Responsibility for NHS spending was devolved to NHS England after 2013/14
