Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what proportion of GPs in England are over 50 years old.

In September 2017, of those general practitioners (GPs) whose ages are known, 33.2% of GPs were 50 years of age or older. In terms of full-time equivalents, 33.5% of GP FTEs were aged 50 or over.
