The cost of including Dupuytren’s contracture in the list of Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit prescribed diseases is assessed to be £8m per year once fully rolled out. The number of claims and awards are assumed to ramp up over time.

The estimated costs of administration, based on the additional volumes of processing both awarded and disallowed claims, medical assessments and changes to supporting processes and products is assessed to be £5.6m.
