To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, pursuant to the Answer of 5 February 2018 to Question 125849, on Patients: Transport, what the cost was to the NHS of the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme in each of the last three years.

Information on the number of people aged 65 and over who have claimed reimbursement for their journey on the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme is not held centrally.

Information on the costs to the National Health Service of the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme is not held centrally.

The Healthcare and Travel Costs Scheme is set out and governed by the provisions of the National Health Service (Travel Expenses and Remission of Charges) Regulations 2003. NHS organisations are responsible for its administration.
