Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many people have limited leave to remain, who (a) are prohibited from working and (b) are not eligible for access to public funds.

No Recourse to Public Funds is the default condition for grants of leave to remain in most categories.

Data is not held in the requested format, and to establish whether a migrant did not or did not have the no recourse to public funds, or prohibition from working condition applied would require individual examination of records. This would incur disproportionate cost.

However, total grants of leave to remain can be found in table ex_01_q in the Home Office’s Immigration Statistics July to September release, available for download at:
