NHS England has advised that there is currently no evidence of gender difference in access to care for heart attacks in England. NHS England will continue to review the evidence so that it can support the National Health Service to ensure that all patients receive equal access to treatment for heart attacks. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is responsible for producing guidelines for best practice of treatment and care. NHS England expects providers to take account of NICE guidelines when delivering services.
