The Department for International Development engages in regular discussions on Yemen with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Ministry of Defence, including through Cabinet-level meetings. There is also regular and close coordination at official level. The UK coordinates its emergency relief efforts through the UN, which allocates resources according to needs. From April 2017 to 17 January 2018, the UK has disbursed over £160 million through the UN’s Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan, in addition to £11.5 million to the Yemen Social Fund for Development, a national development organisation focused on poverty-reduction across the country.
