Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, if he will make it his policy to devolve further fiscal powers to local authorities; and if he will make a statement.

The Government is committed to giving local government greater control over the money they raise. Working with the local government sector, we aim to increase the level of business rates income retained by local authorities to at least 75 per cent in 2020/21.
