Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether potential victims of trafficking who are destitute and who have consented to a referral into the National Referral Mechanism will be accommodated under the victim care contract.
The Government is committed to ensuring that all potential victims of modern slavery receive the appropriate specialist support that they require. If an individual is destitute when they are identified, and has no other options for accommodation, they will be accommodated through the Victim Care Contract, through which support is provided to adult victims. This will happen before a decision is taken as to whether there are reasonable grounds to believe that the person is a victim of slavery and trafficking .
