The Spending Review set budgets for the National Health Service for the years up to and including 2020-21. This was the product of detailed negotiations, which included analysis across a range of factors that impact on the cost of healthcare, including the value of the pound. The Department of Health and Social Care, along with Her Majesty’s Treasury, continues to assess the impact of changes in factors, both pressures and offsetting efficiency opportunities.
