The government announced the creation of a new band for high strength ciders at Autumn Budget 2017. However a decision has not yet been made on the duty rate to be applied to products that fall within the band.

When making decisions on alcohol duty HM Treasury engages with interested stakeholders, including public health organisations, to consider the impact of these decisions.
