Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what steps his Department has taken to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis since 2015.

Information about cystic fibrosis (CF) for both healthcare professionals and the general public is readily available on the NHS Choices and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) websites. Diagnosis of CF is primarily made during new-born screening (the median age at diagnosis is two months) and NICE published a new best practice guideline for clinicians on the condition in October 2017. NICE has also provided new content on CF for the public, which includes contact information for organisations that can provide additional information and support, such as the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
