NHS England has a legal duty to commission primary care dental services to meet local needs. This includes, if appropriate, domiciliary services. Domiciliary dental services provide primary care dentistry for those who are unable to attend a dental practice or other dental service. Instead the dentistry is provided in the environment in which the patient is resident.
