Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, which Cancer Alliances have been created in England and how much funding has been allocated to each Cancer Alliance.

All Cancer Alliances have a delivery plan in place to deliver the recommendations of the independent Cancer Taskforce, and have received core funding to establish themselves in an alliance structure. A further £200 million has been committed in transformation funding in 2017-18 and 2018-19 to support Cancer Alliances with a particular focus on finding new and innovative ways to diagnose cancer earlier, improving the care for those living with cancer and ensuring each cancer patient gets the right care for them. Cancer Alliances are receiving this transformation funding in phases over the course of 2017-18 based on the readiness of systems to take on the transformation work and the strength of their plans.
