Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:
To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what assessment he has made of the potential merits of converting former mills and factories in Greater Manchester and Lancashire into (a) affordable housing, (b) offices and (c) public buildings.
National planning policy promotes the effective reuse of land and buildings to support local economies, deliver housing and maintain heritage assets.
Local planning authorities are best placed to make decisions on planning proposals, taking into account policies in their plans, national planning policy and other material considerations.
