Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what steps he is taking to reverse the rising age-standardised rates of breast cancer.
Age-standardised rates of breast cancer may be changing for a number of reasons, including increased access to breast cancer screening, increased awareness as a result of awareness raising campaigns such as Be Clear On Cancer, and changes in risks. Modifiable behaviours that increase the risk of breast cancer include excess weight, lack of physical exercise and alcohol consumption.
