We expect integrated care boards to commission fertility services according to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence’s (NICE) guidelines, ensuring equal access to fertility treatment in England. NICE’s fertility guidelines currently recommend that the National Health Service provides fertility preservation for patients being treated for cancer who wish to preserve their fertility. NICE is currently reviewing these guidelines and we expect that this review will be published in 2024.
