Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what the cost to the public purse is of the prescription exemption checking service.

There is no direct cost to the public purse for the prescription exemption checking service; it is entirely funded from the monies it recovers and the surplus is returned to NHS England.
