As set out in “The exchange and protection of personal data: a future partnership paper”, the UK wants to explore a UK-EU model for exchanging and protecting personal data which could build on the existing adequacy model and enable the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) to be fully involved in future EU regulatory dialogue. The UK will remain a global leader on data protection and continue to work closely with the EU to drive the improvement of global data protection standards.
