We do not hold details on the number of prison staff trained in the Veterans in Custody Scheme. Specialist training is available to all staff, developed externally by the Probation Institute and military charities, focusing on the particular needs of veterans.

Prison governors have responsibility for coordinating activities in prisons and are responsible for creating a safe rehabilitative environment for all those in their care. This includes running a Veterans in Custody Scheme where there is an identified need.
