To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether he (a) has or (b) is planning a voluntary exit programme for civil servants in his Department.

HM Treasury currently has no live voluntary exit schemes. Voluntary exit schemes are a commonly used workforce management process available to departments based on their specific workforce needs.

Some staff came into the office to work on the Spending Review 2020, on 25th November 2020, and we are aware that a small number of staff had impromptu drinks at and around their desks at the end of the working day.
