Monday 18th September 2017

Asked by: Baroness Walmsley (Liberal Democrat - Life peer)

Question to the Home Office:

To ask Her Majesty's Government when they plan to publish their response to the Home Office public consultation, Reporting and Acting on Child Abuse and Neglect.

Answered by Baroness Williams of Trafford - Captain of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms (HM Household) (Chief Whip, House of Lords)

The previous Government launched a consultation on reporting and acting on child abuse and neglect. This sought views on the introduction of possible new measures including a mandatory reporting duty or a duty to act. The Government has reviewed the consultation responses and will publish its response in due course.
